Welcome!

Hello, come in, the kettle is on ... cuppa? or do you prefer a coffee? How have you been? Life has been pretty crazy hasn't it, it feels non-stop and I never seem to be able to get on top of my to-do list. The thing is, what I really want to do is just have 5 minutes to myself and do something just for me, but that definitely is at the bottom of my to-do list!

Last year I realised that by never making time for myself I was running on empty, I had my lovely family and my lovely little wooden home, but not being creative just for the love of it, was affecting my mental health. Before being a wife and mother, ALL my free time was spent with some sort of craft project in my hand. But since having my boys, I had only really made curtains or finished a half finished blanket that I had started before they had been born. Being creative gave me a quiet moment to myself, something I could pick up and work on when I had a cup of tea, or take with me when I was traveling somewhere. It allowed me to unwind and recharge. By not giving myself these moments, I was not being the best version of myself, not being the best wife and mother I could be. I was happy with my life, but felt I had lost a large part of myself. Last year I decided to make a change ... In recent years, Sundays have been a really hard day. Sundays should be a day to relax and for family, but I found that they had became a day where I was trying to finish all the jobs I hadn't managed to get done in the week. Definitely not the day of rest that they should be, or that I needed! So I decided that Sunday's would be SUNDAY-FUNDAY ... and I would try and do something creative or just for myself on Sundays. Even if it was only for 20 minutes.

This year I decided to take it one step further and not make sure I found only a few moments on Sundays, but fill my days as much as my busy mum life would allow, and so here I am ... ready to share with you what I love ... ways to find your 5 minutes ... ways to craft out moments in your day to find calm and recharge. Do you know what it is you are missing or want to make more time for ... what it is you love to do just for you? As well as crafts, having a few minutes to disappear into a good book, potter in the garden or soak in the bath is what I really love. It's not easy and don't think I have managed a bath without being interrupted by little ones, but the time there is so restful, I know it does me so much good. I hope you will join me in this and find a way you can craft out some time for yourself too. Maria x
